10 Great Health tips to Start 2019



We've done the legwork for you and here they are: the 10 best health tips for 2019 and number 10 is the most important. I’m going to bookend the list with supplementation because we think that is an area of personal health that goes under-appreciated, under-understood and under-funded. Without further ado, here is our list.

  1. Proper vitamin and mineral supplementation. Ask yourself this question, what is our body made of and what makes it work. If we were to look at this topic in depth it would be a University graduate program, but since we only have a few lines to get the point across we will get right to it. Vitamins and minerals are essential nutrients that your body needs in small amounts to work properly. The key word is essential, without them our bodies breakdown and fail to work optimally.  

    Plants and animals can’t make minerals, it must be absorbed into the plants from the soil or ingested by our livestock from its food supply.   4. Socialize. Psychological studies have shown that isolation and lack of communication can lead to the depression and numerous health issues. Even if your job and family life are very busy and tiring, try to devote some time to friends and socializing. It is embedded in our psychology, humans are social animals, so we have to feel the joy of friendship, acceptance, and a sense of belonging.

    In today’s modern world, Social technologies are making us less social and sociable.  Face-to-face interaction is becoming something of the past and society is paying a price.

    It is high time that you park your smartphone in a box when you get home, limit interacting on social media spaces and get down to real things in life. Go out, meet people, and see how direct interactions and socializing can change your worldview and your overall well-being.
     
  5. Get enough sunlight. Speaking about vitamin deficiency, the lack of Vitamin D can lead to the SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder. This element is usually produced when you are staying in the sunshine and is responsible for the brain’s productivity and the release of endorphins, the so-called “happiness hormones”. Make sure you use sun protection and enjoy some time outside for the sake of your general well being.
     
  6. Take a vacation. How many times have you been frustrated by the long hours you are working, but without giving yourself a rest? According to a recent survey, the average U.S. employee takes only half of their allotted vacation time. Unsurprisingly, they're suffering from being overworked, overwhelmed and overwrought. A vacation is another way to quickly add some of that vitamin D that we all need and help us from getting SAD.

  7. Better diet. We all know that we should eat our veggies and avoid junk food, but some many of us really fail at this. There is so much information out there that overwhelms us and makes the task of planning a healthy diet daunting.

  8. Laugh more. One of the best feelings in the world is laughing your ass off. It can bring people together and make some of the best and lasting memories.

    Everything from a slight giggle to a side-splitting guffaw can change the temperature of a room from chilly unfamiliarity to a warm family-like atmosphere. We all love hanging around with people who make us laugh, so find more of those people and invite them to dinner tonight. You’ll have a barrel of a good time.
     
  9. Connect with Nature. You might be surprised how much a good camping trip can charge your batteries. If you are not a camper then book yourself in a nice nature retreat and get out for a walk, canoe on a lake, sit by the camp fire and then soak in your tub in your 5-star hotel for the night. Find your version of nature and enjoy it at least once a year.
